Personalised number plate fees could earn the Government some 2 million Euros in the first year

The Government estimates that up to 2 million euros in revenue will be created during the first year of personalised number plates. It is expected that 3% of current car owners and 5% of new vehicle owners will compete for these plates. A lower estimate puts revenue at 1,346,000 euros corresponding to 2% of current car owners and 3% for new vehicles. From the second year, the government estimates that the amount will be between 326,000 euros and 504,000 euros annually to correspond with newly registered vehicles.

The Automobile Club of Andorra (ACA) has been the main promoter of the idea. To reserve your personalised licence plate you will have to pay 40.74 euros and an annual payment of 200 euros. The acquisition rate varies according to the chosen model: combining two letters and three numbers will cost 300€; 3 letters and 2 numbers 500€ ; 4 letters and 1 number will cost 1.000€; and 5 letters 3.000€. Those wishing to have fewer than 5 characters will have to pay up to 6.000€
