THE GOVERN IS NEGOTATING A 3 YEAR CONTRACT WITH THE CIRQUE DU SOLEIL.

Cirque du Soleil works for Andorra and therefore "we should not stop doing it." That was the clear message from the Minister of Tourism, Francesc Camp, a few minutes before the last performance of Scalada Storia.

And precisely because they do not think anything else than continuity, the Government is negotiating with the Canadian company an agreement that binds the Cirque "at least three years." "After three years we must stop to think exactly how we evolve and how we would like a more permanent show" said the minister, who made it clear that although negotiations are underway, "is not made or far, but one of the possibilities. " However, the decision should be taken before the end of the year. "Looking at the end of September or early October we try to link the Cirque," he said.

"The Cirque is already an important element, but we want to go further and have other cultural events, especially in low season," he said. And if you want to organize, such as outdoor concerts, "we thought to have a more permanent location for it, a site like it to be partiatly covered.

Ideas

Right now "we're looking," and we have gone to Canada to visit some similar enclosures. "We must think carefully and see if both the continent and the content can make a bold step and offer a much wider billboard shows over four or five months a year," explained Camp, he acknowledged, however, that "represents significant budgets."

The owner made it clear that is still "premature" to say whether the cost should be assumed by the government, which admitted that it was probable or by Andorra Tourism. What I have clear is that the location is completely conditioned by the size of the space. "Cirque occupies 7,000 square meters and is easy to think that a similar venue at least should take this dimension," he said, acknowledging that "there is little land in Andorra la Vella or Escaldes having these sizes." In this regard, assured that once you decide whether the project goes ahead "we'll see where it can go." In this case, the scene explained that the final decision will be long-term continuity of the Cirque.

As for the features to accommodate spectators when he said it should be "modular" because that could host cultural events of very different natures should be adapted to each situation. "If you make a rock concert maybe everybody should be standing up, but if maybe classical music audience is sitting," he added.

Camp gave these explanations while taking the balance of the third assembly of the Canadian company. In total have reached the 96,000 spectators and therefore would have reached 93% occupancy. This year there were 20,000 more places to deliver "and most have been distributed." Camp acknowledged that it was not an easy challenge "for three consecutive years to grow and the audience responds, so the show is good." He concluded: "We are aware of the strength of the show because even if it rains all afternoon people are still coming. We are very, very pleased. "
