IGI (VAT) and Direct Tax declaration results higher than expected at 16%

On the 31st of July the most recent Tax declarations came to a close, consisting of Company Tax (IS), Economic Activity Tax (IAE) and the equivalent to VAT (IGI). The outcome was an increase of 16.32% in relation to the forecast. The IA and IAE taxes are the most noteworthy, with a total of 20.79 million Euros, 25% more than expected. IGI was also higher than expected by 2%, reaching 11.44 million Euros. The success at which people have completed their declarations is also at an impressive 98.5%.
With the forecast at 27.71 million Euros and the reality at 32.24 million, the % increase is that of 16.32.
Another success story is that of the efficiency in terms of online declarations and reduction of waiting time. 6000 declarations were done via the internet and streamlining the process in person has reduced the average waiting time from 15 minutes last year down to 2 minutes this year. The maximum waiting time of 45 minutes last year was reduced to 14 minutes this year.
