Gambling law approved despite reluctance from the opposition as smoking will be allowed in the Bingo

Andorra la Vella - Source "Ana.ad"
The Consell General, last Thursday approved the Law of Regulation on Gambling. This was achieved due to the 25 votes in favour by the democrat and social-democrat parties, whilst the 3 “consellers” from the mixed group voted against.
The Prime-Minister, Toni Martí, emphasized the “milestone” achieved with this approval and has assured that it has been made with “reflection and responsibility” as it has been “regulated to protect”. Prior to this the amendments presented by the social-democrat party were voted on, which in neither case prospered. On one hand, PS requested that the Consell Regulador Andorrà del Joc (CRAJ) (Andorran Regulatory Council for Gambling) not be created and that the tasks that are to be allocated to this be dealt with by a department assigned to the Finance Ministry. And on the other hand, they also requested that smoking be banned in the bingo and casino gambling halls.
