The Education Cluster, belonging to the Actua initiative, has handed out the awards for the Scratch Competition which promotes awareness of new technologies amongst children through the creationg of animated Christmas carols. The winners Diego de la Cueva, Dunkan Houstoun, Lua Barragán i Isolda Casamajor, have won a “Lego Minstrom” which is a programable robot using the “scratch” language. The judges chose the three winning projects taking into account their programming complexity, the suitability of the subject and the “andorranization” of the carols. The work of Lua Barragán and Isolda Casamajor, has been chosen by Actua to be their Christmas greeting for all their contacts.
Around 50 animated Christmas carols of pupils from all the primary schools of the country took part in the “Scratch Competition”, however there were only 3 awards. The judges panel consisted of Marc Jové and Quim Torredà from the Education Ministry, Gemma Arribas from Actua, Imma Jiménez from FEDA and Josep Maria Torres as head of the Education Cluster.
