The Cap de Govern calls for elections on the 1st of March

The Cap de Govern (Prime Minister of Andorra), Antoni Martí, appeared at the press conference prior to the Consell de Ministres (Ministers Council) to inform of the call for elections on the 1st of March. Martí has announced that the Consell General will be dissolved this Friday, 16th of January, after the approval of the general budget for 2015. The decree of dissolution and call for elections will be published this Friday signed by the Cap de Govern and with the countersignatures of the Co-Princes. The Cap de Govern informed the presidents of the parliamentary groups yesterday morning.

To have a budget was a prerequisite that the Govern had given itself for the end of this term, to facilitate the transition for the new government. The candidates will have until 12 noon on the 22nd of January to present their national and territorial lists to the Govern and Comuns, respectively. The Cap de Govern has explained that the electoral campaign will begin on

Sunday, the 15th of February, at 12 noon and will continue until Friday the 27th of February.

The Govern has reminded citizens of the need to check their inclusion in the electoral census of their parish. Those who wish to, will have until next Tuesday, the 20th, to request to be included as this is the date that the electoral census will close.

The General Secretariat of the Govern also stated that the voting by post application deadline will close at 12 noon on the 22nd.
