Carmen Cervera, Baroness Thyssen, is looking into the possibility of moving her art collection to Andorra. This is what some Spanish papers are saying, stating that one of the most important art fortunes of Spain would leave the country if negotiations between Cervera and the Spanish Government do not arrive to a good accord. Tita Cervera has established the 15th of April as the deadline for donating more than 400 works from her private collection to the Museu Thyssen in Madrid, and would be negotiating an optimal agreement with the Culture Minister, José Ignacio Wert.

In April last year, the Govern d’Andorra already informed of negotiations between the Culture Ministry and the Fundació Thyssen to open an exclusive space in Andorra for an exhibition of works of art from her. The project foresaw that the Fundació Thyssen would provide the works of art whilst the Govern would participate in the management of this.

It has been confirmed that the Culture Minister, Albert Esteve, has once again had a meeting with the Baroness this past 26 of January, and that it was a meeting where any further contact has been adjourned until after the general elections of the 1st of March.
