Civil Protection reported that since Monday night the snowfall has left more than 40 cm at 1,800 meters and it is expected that during Tuesday night the snowfall will be between 20 and 25 centimeters, during Wednesday 40 cm and Thursday 15 centimeters. While Tuesday and Wednesday snow can arrive at any level, from Wednesday afternoon onwards the snow level will begin to rise to 1,600 meters. Due to the snow storm, the avalanche risk level has risen to 4 / 5 and it is possible that Wednesday could go up to level 5. Throughout the day, the Civil Protection has conducted controlled shots in most prone to avalanche areas.

Francesc Areny (Civil Protection director) reminds drivers of the need to circulate properly equipped. The ski resorts have partially opened on Tuesday and Grandvalira expects a meter of new snow.
