Internet breakdown affects 8000 users

Yesterday the internet was a real rollercoaster said an employee of one of the shops in the commercial hub of Escaldes who complained that he could not operate POS payment and that this affected the cash of the day. The situation led to a breakdown "by degradation of the fiber optic service," as reported by Andorra Telecom. The incident left without service or with an intermittent and slow service to 8,000 users, according to the company. The problems started between 11:00 12:00 but at midnight yesterday was still not restored to a hundred percent. Internet began to malfunction shortly before noon yesterday. This was noticed in the homes, but more serious effects occurred in enterprises. A sector was particularly affected was trade, since the stores could not charge customers using payment cards as the this were not working because of the switchboard. In any case, from Andorra Telecom asserted that he worked into the night to resolve an incident is expected to be resolved today because everything returns to normal.
