LA PURITO 2015

The cyclist Joaquim “Purito” Rodríguez, who is well acquainted with the roads of the principality, has designed the route of the Andorran stage of the Vuelta 2015 to be held on 2 September. It is an extremely demanding route that will undoubtedly mark the final result of the race.

As a cycling fan, on 9 August you can feel the harshness of this route in your legs with “Purito” Rodríguez.

To open up the race to a wide range of cycle tourers, the organisation has prepared two routes:

The long route of 145 km, which follows the whole route of the eleventh stage of the Vuelta 2015, starting from Sant Julià de Lòria, climbing to the Collada de Beixalís, Coll d’ Ordino, Coll de la Rabassa, Collada de la Gallina, and the Alt de la Comella mountain passes to reach Els Cortals d’Encamp, with a total accumulated climb of 5,230 m; a real challenge and only suitable for the boldest and best prepared.

The short route of 80 km that leaves Sant Julià, climbs to the Collada de la Gallina and Alt de la Comella mountain passes and arrives in Els Cortals d’Encamp, which is also very demanding with a total accumulated climb of 3,500 m.

On Saturday 8 August, the Racer Fair will be held at the Centre de Congressos Lauredià for the sponsors to display their products. There will be an informative briefing for all participants and in the evening a “pasta party” will be held.
