8th MEETING OF ‘FALLAIRES’ OF THE PYRENEES From 16/04/2016 to 17/04/2016

The Community of ‘Fallaires’ of the Pyrenees is holding its annual meeting in Andorra la Vella on the third weekend of April with the satisfaction of having had “The fire festivals of the summer solstice of the Pyrenees” included in UNESCO’s Immaterial Cultural Heritage of Mankind.

Over the two days the representatives of the groups from Catalonia, Aragon and Occitania, which encompass up to 63 municipalities, will work on common subjects to enhance the development of the Fire Festivals in order to achieve the maximum possible dissemination and visibility, with the drive that has brought them inclusion in the UNESCO’s list.

Meetings, round tables and talks will be held on Saturday 16 and in the morning of Sunday 17, the Plaça del Consell General will be the stage for the Festival of Popular Culture of the Principality of Andorra, at 11:30 a.m. The celebration will conclude at 1 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres. All events and activities will be open to the public.
